Trailer of the new Tekken movie





Trailer of the new Tekken movieCG film will be released next summer.

Namco Bandai Games America Inc. today announced that Tekken: Blood Vengeance is being launched in the second half. The new film will be produced entirely in CG. It will be produced in 3D and show the world of Tekken so faithful, and show the characters and their stories.


The film is being produced by Digital Frontier (Resident Evil: Degeneration, Death Note). In the staff are the writer Dai Sato (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and Cowboy Bebop) and the Director of Projects is Youichi Mouri who was responsible for opening videos of the games Tekken 5 and Tekken 6.


According to Choi Carlson, vice president of Marketing for Namco Bandai's Tekken franchise is one of the most popular fighting game and that fans would like to see a film produced entirely in 3D and see the characters acting in that environment.


Already Katsuhiro Harada, creator and director, said the fans have always asked for a CG movie and it is being produced just to satisfy that audience. The director also said the film will explore a new angle to bring new solutions for the series.


The game was created 16 years ago and the franchise has sold over 40 million games worldwide. Tekken was produced by Namco in 1995 being one of the first 3D game in history.


Due to an exclusive deal to most games were only produced for the Sony Playstation, but the game has passed by Nintendo's Game Boy Advance and the sixth chapter will be also released for Xbox 360.


Currently, the Tekken franchise is among the best selling fighting game in the world. Its direct competitors are Sega's Virtua Fighter, Dead or Alive from Tecmo and Soul Calibur series that also belongs to Namco Bandai and you just have the trailer for the fifth chapter disclosed.
